Being a hairdresser, I tend to wear a lot of black. I also wash my clothing frequently- working with chemicals and hair clippings gets messy- and although I use special detergent designed for dark clothing in cold water, black has a tendency to fade, so a few times a year I do a dyebath for all of my black clothing. It used to be that they would look great- sharp & dark- until I washed them a few times, then the dye would fade back out. Until I came across THIS product! The RIT dye colorstay fixative really helps to extend the life of the dye, I’d say by double at least. Just follow the instructions and enjoy the results! One more thing I’ve found is that when I would dry freshly dyed clothing, there would be a grayish stain left on the inside of the dryer, but that doesn’t happen anymore since I’ve started using the Colorstay! I’ve seen some negative reviews for this product but if you follow the directions I bet it’ll work just as well for you.
