I love this nail lamp! My friend has a UV bulb model also from MelodySusie and I intended on buying the exact same lamp, but amazon suggested this as a newer version and after doing a little research, I learned that LED nail lamps have basically made traditional UV lamps obsolete. LED lamps dry gel polish quicker than traditional UV lamps and LED lights never need replacing unlike UV bulbs that have diminishing effectiveness over time and need to be replaced based on hours of usage. Also, pretty much all gel polishes are compatible with both UV and LED light. So, with this information, I decided to purchase this model. I love it! The motion detect on/off feature is so awesome! It’s a nice little feature that adds convenience and a luxurious touch. I also love the countdown display. I feel like it helps make the time pass quicker knowing how much longer you have left, although I wish it read towards the person using the lamp instead of the numbers facing the opposite way. As it is, the timer display reads the numbers upside down when you have your own nails in the lamp. Overall, really happy with this product and very glad I chose this model instead of the other model my friend owns that I had been borrowing. It’s also more compact and much lighter in weight. Also, super happy they offer a 20% discount on a set of gel polishes when you purchase a lamp. (Look at all the photos on the item listing, towards the end of the photos of the item there are coupon codes for each set that you apply at checkout to redeem the 20% off.) I’ve been obsessed with their Sweet Reverie collection. Between my friend and I, we have almost finished several of the colors from the set, so I was able to save on replenishing our supply. The colors are gorgeous and the polishes go on so well. **Important thing to remember: LED lamps still emit UV light, meaning you need to be cautious about frequent exposure. Sunscreen or special gloves are still recommended.
