Despite advertising claims to the contrary, vinyl chair mats -- even "heavy duty" ones" -- always seem to end up cracking, so I decided that this polycarbonate alternative might be worth a try despite its relatively high cost. Yes, it does creep around just a bit, but I can live with that as long as it doesn't crack, and in that respect this mat has performed as I hoped. But four months isn't long enough for a thorough evaluation. Time will tell more, and I will update this review if any problems surface in the future. UPDATE, September 8, 2012: A little more than a year has passed, and I have not yet had any problems with cracking. UPDATE, October 26, 2014: Still no cracks. UPDATE, August 8, 2016: Still no cracks. UPDATE, April 4, 2021: Cracks and a small hole. But that's after ten years! Paid $30 for a warranty replacement. Will update again after it has had time to prove itself.
