I bought this for my oldest cat, Madeline, who is a sweet, scrappy little thing who likes to spend warm months outdoors. She lives with her bully of a sister, who claims every cat bed and warm snuggly place for herself, leaving Madeline to hide in closets or in places her fat nemesis can't reach her. As her chubby sister can't squeeze under the fence, I decided to create a space in our yard that would be 100% Madeline's. I tore out some overgrown weeds/bushes from my side yard and put in a perennial garden and this little house. It turned out super cute. Assembly wasn't that difficult, though for the price they are charging for this thing (which seems to fluctuate between $60-$100) I feel like it could be a bit more solidly built. Those little stairs can break easily, and they are mainly for show, because they are so shallow I can't see most dogs using them. My cat just jumps to the top and ignores the stairs. My kitty was using it the second it was assembled, before we even put it in the garden, so I guess that's a stamp of approval. (Including a couple photos!) I wish they sold the little cushions that fit in this, I have been trying to find something similar to use. I also wish the top was a bit more air/water tight so she wouldn't get wet if it rains. Someone handy could probably do some improvements to make it sturdier and drier, but it's beyond my ability. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. I plan to keep it outside in the winter, so time will tell how well it holds up.
