The best there is in a stamp tool
May 8 2017 UPDATE: IF YOU WANT TO JUMP TO THE ACTUAL REVIEW, PLEASE SKIP TO THE NEXT PARAGRAPH. It has just come to my attention that this amazing and wonderful item is no longer being sold, "due to legal issues" The Hampton Art press is in the same boat. I don't know the specifics but it breaks my heart. I am seriously saddened by this because I have a good idea what happened and it ticks me off because this product was made very well and it was reasonable priced. Not everyone who crafts has an unlimited budget. I know I don't, wish I did but I could never see spending $50-$80 on a similar product. So, I will say that at this moment Tim Holtz Stamping Platform, which is similar hasn't been mass released yet and there are places still taking pre-orders. I have placed a pre-order for one. When I placed the order over a month ago I was told it was going to be sent at end of April then recently got an email that the release date has been pushed until June. I hope it isn't because they are hashing out legal details and that there was just so many orders that its taking them a beat to get them all out. Either way, if you think you wanted this item or the Hampton Art Press then please go to youtube and see what you think of the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. I can't review it yet but it looks well built. I think I'll still like this one best but it doesn't do others good if they can't get their hands on one. Sorry to relay this bad news. The funny thing about this whole situation is that this concept isn't revolutionary in any way, shape or form, this concept was taken from the printing presses from the past hundreds of years. Good luck and happy crafting. :) ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is by far the best out there. I can honestly say I am blown away by this stamp tool. I know there are die-hard Misti lovers and I respect that but this has something that the others don't, it has the hinged back that allows you to easily move from foam back stamps to clear stamps in a breeze. Plus it allows you to use bigger pieces of paper than any other tool out there. The actual stamp area is 7" x 7" BUT the bottom and the left side are left open so you can use a 12" x 12" piece of paper or whatever size you'd like to stamp on. You could easily put a border along an entire scrapbook page with this tool. I have the Hampton Art press as well and I love it but when I got this one, I was so jazzed. It really filled the gaps the others left behind. Now, the only thing I was worried about was the paper lifting when I stamp and then not going back in the same spot, but oddly enough I haven't had that issue, at all. I just keep my paper butted up to the top right and I"m golden. I took some images to show you. The one with the crazy dogs clearly has some bald spots on the image I titled '1st stamp' and you can see in the '2nd stamp' image, it is filled in. Now if you had to, I suppose you could easily use a little piece of washi tape to keep it in place but I've not had any issues in the past 11 days that I've had this gem. I tried to get several images to show you what I'm talking about in regards to the hinges. There is one image that I show the hinge and it seems completely flat but it really does have clear stamps in there. I used 4 different brands of stamps in my images to show you how well it works. I also took a picture of a 12" x 12" piece of paper to show that I stamped in one corner and then stamped other images in the opposite corner. There is also a picture showing it side by side the Hampton Art press to show you the size difference. The construction is good and the plastic is really nice quality. The back has various sized holes to help with the pressure when you press down to get your image. I still have used a mouse pad or foam board under mine but not sure if it matters, to be honest. I apologize if any of the images are out of order or flipped on their sides. I did go and crop and turn any but amazon has a mind of its own when they take the images from my computer. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment and I'll do my best to help.
