I call it "THE BEAST"
Holy Battery Bank Batman! I’ll start with a few key point that I feel most buyers are wondering. This battery IS TSA compliant for CARRY ON ONLY. DO NOT CHECK THIS BATTERY. TSA limits batteries by their Wh or watt-hour rating. mAh is a poor representation of capacity as the same battery has different mAh for different voltage outputs. On the other hand watt-hours stay the same no matter the voltage. To find the watt hours of a device you multiply the mAh capacity of the lithium cells inside (26800) by the nominal voltage of the battery (li-ion is 3.7V) and divide by 1000. This results in (26800*3.7)/(1000) resulting in 99.16 watt-hours. The TSA limits batteries at ABOVE 100 watt-hours thus this battery is fine for airplanes. Remember that 3.7 volts is the nominal voltage of the battery and has NOTHING to do with the 5V, 9V, and 12V outputs. Reading the reviews I couldn’t seem to find a definitive answer on whether or not the charging INPUT was Qualcomm Quick Charge compliant so I tested it with my meter. Plugging into 3 different QC 2.0 compliant chargers the input being fed into the battery was 7V, 9V, and 12V at varying amperages resulting in around 15W charging speed. This DEFINITELY support Qualcomm Quick Charge input charging for fast recharging of the actual bank. This charger DOES NOT support pass through charging. If the bank is charging itself, all 3 of the output terminals are turned off. You will need to unplug the bank from its charger, then plug in your devices to charge. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of. As for quick charging my Note 4 or normal charging my other devices it is flawless and charges everything at full speed. The only thing I happened upon was a slight voltage drop on the output when I had 4A of load on the non QC ports and the QC port pushing 15W. This is unlikely to be seen in real-world testing and is due to the gobs of power my resistive load testers draw. This low voltage will NEVER hurt your devices as they will throttle back or stop charging if the voltage drops too low. A picture can be seen, but the dimensions are about 7”x3.125”x1”. The pack is quite hefty but it likely has eight 18650 lithium cells inside and those are not light. The aluminum body seems extremely tough and works really well at wicking the heat away from the control board. Even maxing that charger out, it was never more than warm. Overall this battery bank is awesome. From the quick charge output/input to the rugged aluminum body, there isn’t much more you can put in a charger like this. 10/10 with rice.
