I have had this gel topper for more than a month now and I love it! Unlike some of the reviewers of this product, I purchased it specifically for the cooling properties and not to modify the feel of my mattress. My mattress was not the issue. I am in my mid 50's and I sleep HOT! I would wake up multiple times a night with hot flashes. I may in fact be the cause of global warming I sleep so hot. Using moisture wicking sheets and clothing kept me, my clothing and the sheets from being drenched in sweat, but did nothing to stop the hot flashes in the first place. Needless to say, I wasn't getting good, restful sleep. I have waited to review the gel topper because here in the Northeast it has been an exceptionally cool and wet spring. However, now that we are in the midst of the 2nd heat wave of the season I can state without hesitation that this gel topper keeps me cool. I now sleep through the night without being woken by hot flashes at all. Now for those of you who are not used to sleeping on a foam mattress, it did take me a few days to get used to the sensation of it conforming to my body especially since as a back sleeper I like a firm mattress, but by the 3rd night it no longer felt weird to have the heels of my feet sinking into the foam. I also found that I needed to replace my pillows with gel memory foam pillows since my head was not sinking into my regular pillow sufficiently. The mattress is exactly as described with swirls of the cooling gel in various concentrations on the topper. I picked the most concentrated portion for my side of the bed and look forward to sleeping on it for years to come. If only I bought this sooner. I paid full price for the gel topper and have received nothing in return for my review.
