Big Enough for a Main Course Salad
I have been using this container regularly for almost a year and I really love it. Usually I use it for entree salads. I posted a photo of what I put in a salad to illustrate because it seems that other reviewers have different ideas about what "entree size" means. I can fit a head of romaine lettuce in the main body of the container (the smaller type from the grocery store 3-pack), which is about 5 cups loosely packed in a measuring cup. The top compartment fits about 1.5 cups of chopped vegetables, plus the dressing container. In the picture I put in about 3/4 cup chopped bell pepper (half of a large bell pepper) on one side, and a dozen grape tomatoes, some feta, and some bacon on the other side. I also put some carrots on top of the lettuce before I clipped the container closed. Yes, the food is a little squished in the container, and I probably would not be able to put as much lettuce in the bottom if I used a variety other than romaine that bruised easily. However, when I pour the toppings out of the top partition into the bowl, add the dressing, put the lid back on and shake to mix, the dressing distributes evenly. I don't think I would want a container much bigger than this -- this is a nice size and easy to carry in my bag to work.
