I've been using foam cleansers for years because I love feeling squeaky clean. I have oily combination, dehydrated, sensitive , acne prone skin, and this whole time I just assumed that the more foam the better. Recently, I've been doing more research about skincare (being the good Korean skincare obsessed person that I am) and was horrified to find out that the super foamy cleansers I have been using are way too high of a pH to be good for my skin! They're usually pH 9-10 and strip my skin of natural oils, and the ideal pH for my skin to be in is 5-6. Lower pH products will promote antibacterial surface, which is great for acne prone gals like myself. So after the horrifying news, I went ahead to find a replacement cleanser and came across this CosRx one which a lot of beauty bloggers rave about. They say it is gentle yet effective, with a pH of 5.5 as its advertisement claims. Now, not going to lie- I do miss the squeaky clean feeling and the joy of foaming up my cleanser in my hands each night. But this cleanser has been so great for my skin, and suitable for both morning and night. It smells a little herbal (tea tree) and bubbles but does not foam. I double cleanse at night because I wear makeup almost daily, and this has been a good second cleanser for me even without the super foam action. I am not going back to foaming cleansers as long as this product exists! Highly recommend, and it is so affordable!
