This product does exactly what I expected it to do. I can set serving bowels of hot food, a pan directly from the stove and dishes straight from the microwave on the table runner. The table does not get hot or even warm from the food. It also stays in place easily. I use the runner and placements. The material seems to hold up well. Most food I can wipe off with a wet cloth but some food (like red sauces) I have to use dish soap and water and scrub a little but so far the stains have all come out. I gave it 4 star instead of 5 because it is a little difficult to get some food out of the mats. They look OK for use at a kitchen table but would want something fancier looking for a dinning room. Over all I am happy with this product and will buy it again when I need to replace the ones I have now.
