Update to below review: THE BOOT STYLE HAS CHANGED. OLD STYLE RUNS SMALL. NEW STYLE HAS PERFECT SIZING I have three pairs of these. The first ran a bit small and had no draw string. They came just above my knees at 5 feet 5 inches tall, and were a tad tight in the toe area with a somewhat thin footbed which made me insert a gel shoe insert to absorb shock. It seems that the manufacturer has been paying attention to these reviews because the style has been updated. Now, the boot is taller, hitting mid thigh, with the ability to also be folded over at any height you like. The new style has accurate sizing and the footbed is much more comfortable. At first, I was not crazy about the drawstring but, it does help keep the boots from slouching down, especially when wearing them with tights. They are crazy comfortable and I have worn them for hours with no discomfort at all. I plan on buying additional colors because they are just perfect. The one thing I suggest is that if you do get the updated style, try to keep the drawstring tied in a bow when you aren't wearing them because I have had to fish the drawstring out a few times, which is a pain and difficult to do. So remember, old no drawstring style...lower price..runs small. New style, with drawstring....higher price....true to size. Hope this helps with the sizing confusion! I bought these in gray and, as others have indicated, they are a bit darker than the pictures shows. I normally wear a size 9 and was going to buy a 10 based on other reviews indicating that these boots were somewhat small, but decided to order a 9 since my left foot is slightly smaller than my right and I can occasionally fit into an 8 1/2. The boot was a bit tight at first, as I thought it would be, but I wore two pairs of socks and walked around the house for a few hours and the boots stretched enough to be slightly snug, yet comfortable. These boots are very comfortable for hours and have a nice "cling" to them because of the faux suede, which makes them stay up nicely over the knee with skinny jeans or tights.
