So, I purchased these gloves NOT for welding or any similar type of work. I bought them because we have a number of feral cats that have come to the house and some of those we've decided to adopt or bring to the vet to be checked out since we don't want them potentially getting any of our or other neighborhood cats sick. Well, if you've ever attempted to handle an adult feral cat........Tazmanian Devil comes to mind. After thinking about it I purchased these gloves to protect my hands and arms and they worked out great. I'm sure they would also work for their intended purpose but the stopped any teeth and claws from "hitting their mark" and allows me to handle the cat(s) safely without any harm to either of us! In case anyone has a similar issue I hope this helps.
