We've had this system almost a year now and it is worth its weight in gold. It's installed in a rough part of town and has caught several shootings, even more fights several other domestic disturbances. The 5MP cameras catch people running between buildings and trees nearly two blocks away. Police are amazed by the quality, prosecutors will love you and defense attorneys will curse you. Either way, the property damage and violence stops in its tracks. We use the manual backup feature to spin off full resolution video to flash drives when the police ask for footage. The night vision works as advertised and the cameras respond well to additional IR illumination. We used ASIN: B004F9LF7E & ASIN: B075F7NV56, both are 850NM wavelength and 12 volts DC. This easily paints an open area about 400' long. Our system has the 5MP IP POE cameras, 16 port POE switch and 16 channel NVR. The load meter on the switch indicates all 16 cameras draw only 30% of power capacity. We did have a warranty issue where moisture entered the connector and killed a camera, but Richard in customer service squared everything away quickly and got us going again. This camera was mounted about 60' from the ground and routinely experiences 40 - 60 MPH winds with rain and ice. The cameras work flawlessly in sub-zero temperatures. You can prevent connection troubles by crimping the RJ45 end onto the cable, spraying it with the dilectric spray, closing the weatherproof connector according to instructions, wrapping it tightly with the self-fusing silicone tape (make sure there is plenty of overlap) and zip tying the ends to make sure the tape seals to both wires tightly. Once finished, it's bulletproof. In closing, we love the system and GW Security is our brand from now on. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
