its well made but i read the reviews about the top door coming opening after putting animals in it my cats are 14.5 lbs and 13 lbs i put them both in it separately and picked them up as i noticed the latches moved it didn't come open and the latch did not lift all the way up with that said i was still skittish as my cats have never been outside other than on a closed in porch so i didn't want to take any chances of it coming open so i added a strap with metal hooks attached it to the carrier as there was a place made to add one then i put my cats back in it and i felt safer
