Popped it in and worked as expected. I bought this because I have a relatively older vehicle and paying to have someone diagnose a check engine light seems silly. With this plugged in, I can see what the problem is and determine whether it needs to go in for repairs. That's worth the price for me. I think there are some limitations though: * The app 'forgets' the device so you have reestablish a connection each time you want to check or clear a code. * It doesn't track any other useful information right now but that's not a dealbreaker at this stage for me * The vehicle checklist (items that you should get checked or repaired at periodic intervals) doesn't interact with the mileage information you have to manually update periodically. If I'm telling you that the vehicle had 150k miles on it, you don't need to show me what needs to be done at 12k. * When unconnected the device has pea-sized red light that is definitely exciting to my toddler but seems unnecessary I would recommend the purchase of this device if you want to check codes. It's definitely a savings over having a mechanic do it for you if they are charging you just to tell you what's wrong. If that's not a good enough reason for you, I'd wait.
