Wowzers! Great buy!
Lifesaver. I am expected to be no weight bearing for 6 months. Came across the iWalk and did not hesitate to buy it. It's HSA approved if you are using one. I've mowed the lawn, gone to walmart, done misc yard work. Have to go down stairs backwards. Just use the handrail. Did put a towel behind my knee because the strap was hurting my leg while I was mowing. Other wise it doesn't bother me. Hills are difficult. I wouldn't advise doing it. If I'm making a quick trip to the bathroom I use the front handle instead of strapping everything up. Once your straps are adjusted, there are quick release buckles to loosen the tension then just slide them off. The buckles are locked in tight. It does take some effort to slide them. If you have arthritic hands this could pose a problem. You can sit down with it on but it's not comfortable and very awkward. But can be done. Overall a lifesaver. My first surgery was botched. This time around I was prepared. Got the iWalk, bed wedge to elevate my leg, cast cover, can of cast relief spray for itching, and sani cast for hygiene of the cast. If your going to be no weight bearing for a long period of time or just have the money to blow. Don't hesitate to buy. It is pricey so if it's a short stint I would just use crutches vs paying the $150.
Update:
After about three weeks I have to take a star away. The padding under the knee has flattened out and is rock hard now. The front lip the knee rest against is too short and the padding has pulled down. I have to put a sock under my knee for comfort.
Update:
The strap that goes over the back of the leg right behind the knee is not enough. There needs to be a much larger padding. After extended use my leg is raw and scabbed over from the strap. The crutch is also making a lot of squeaking noises now when I walk. Everything is tight. I may purchase one of those lamb skin seat belt shoulder pads to slide over the leg strap. That should help with the comfort. The knee pad needs improved. Its rock hard and needs replaced. Overall, this is still a lifesaver vs regular crutches. I added a picture of the scab on my leg from the strap. It was a lot worse.
