I am writing this review in response to reviews that I have read before purchasing this product. Let me just say up front for all DSL users, you can correct the static problem by purchasing a DSL phone filter jack. OK, back to my review...I had an AT&T Dect 6.0 phone answering system prior to this one, so I had decided to purchase another one after the original one began to fail. Thankfully, the previous system lasted many years. When I received the new system, and installed it, there was static every time I picked up the handset to make or receive a call. I was so angry, I repeatedly told my daughter that it was going back to Amazon. Fortunately, I had remembered the complaints that this phone system did not work well with DSL. Then I remembered that my late husband had added an additional jack to the answering machine component. I looked at the old broken device and found the jack which is a DSL phone filter jack. No more static! Amazon sells the filter jack for under $10.00. I have found that if I use it in the answering component, that it corrects the static problem for all of the handsets as well.
