When I first recorded this product and tried to put it to use I was a little bummed out. The first step of sharpening seemed to work flawlessly. But when I went to run my pencil through the second fine point step couldn't get the graphite to sharpen without snapping it somewhere in the process. I was using a palomino black wing and I had burned through a good quarter of it before over coming my frustrations in thinking that this just couldn't be right. It's a simple device and it's gotten great reviews. Why wasn't it working? So I collected myself and started to diagnose the cause of this issue. I found out that the tightness of the set screw for the blade is very sensitive. In this case it was a bit too loose and the blade would not make contact with the graphite without excessive pressure which just caused it to snap. A few quick turns to the set screw and viola! The amazing pencil sharpener I had expected. I have later found out that the tightness of this set screw is very touchy. Too loose and your graphic won't sharpen. Too tight and it will sharpen the wood body as well as the graphite like a normal sharpener. Gotta keep an eye on that sneaky screw ;) otherwise this sharpener really is great
