I’ve used a similar steamer by Homedics for years to treat my chronic sinusitis. They stopped making them, so I’m very glad to find this replacement. It’s smaller, so it holds less water, but the steam does last about 15 minutes on the lower 1 setting. I wouldn’t use the higher setting, as I had to hold my head an inch or two above the face cradle to keep the heat from feeling too intense, even on the lower setting. Here’s a tip I figured out with my old steamer, if you want to use essential oils: rather than gum up the reservoir where the water boils to steam, pour the oils with a bit of water into a small heat resistant glass (like a shot glass or votive holder) and place the glass under the nasal insert. The eucalyptus is diffused into the steam so that breathing it in through the nose delivers the treatment straight to the sinuses. It feels great!
