Impressive power
I've played with a lot of ARM-based Linux mini SBCs, and the Tinker so far does the best job of approaching desktop power. (I suspect the memory size and speed are the main reasons.) The downside is that, because it's so new, software support is weaker than more established fruit- and dog-based cards. But if you're into Linux and not afraid to experiment, it is a great hardware platform with impressive performance. I mounted mine in a Eleduino metal case with cooling fan, which does a great job of keeping the Tinker cool, but attenuated WiFi signals from the internal antenna a great deal. Trying to add an external antenna to the case led to the problem of finding an appropriate extension cable. Unfortunately, ASUS doesn't specify the miniature coax connector they used, naming it only an "i-PEX" which is a company name, not a part. Most online information indicated it was a U.fl, but after spending a lot of time and money on cables that didn't fit, I finally figured out that it was instead a W.fl connector, its smaller cousin.
