Brought this to keep my seedlings warm. I have it under a thick plastic utility tray and the seedlings are in peat pots with plugs inside them. They are under a dome of clear plastic with CFL lights above. Average temperature of the surrounding space is about 65 degrees F. It heats up nice even with the thick tray. It was even getting a little to hot (90+) so I had to offset the tray over the pad a bit so it was not getting all the heat. Would be nice if you could control the heat, but it's not that big of a deal and I knew that going in. Keeps the temp right on target once setup right and promotes humidity creation as well. Does a good job. Seems well made too and should last for a long time. Definitely can recommend this product.
