Decants and properly aerates a full standard wine bottle. Relatively short neck makes for convenient storage when not in use. Cleans easily when attended to immediately, but as with all decanters, if you leave wine in it long enough to stain, cleaning becomes a bit more challenging. Bottom line is that I never routinely decanted red wine and now I do. It has significantly improved my enjoyment of wine and I am very pleased with this purchase.
