We go through these chair mats at least every couple years. They start cracking and fall to pieces. I don't understand why someone doesn't make a mat that will last longer than a few years, tops. I ordered one of these mats to see what it looked like before I bought three more. It seems like a durable, quality product that will last a long time. It's much thicker than a normal chair mat. I'm using it on short office carpet, and it stays in place perfectly. It does have some scuffs and marks from the chair wheels, but it doesn't look bad even with the marks. The most important thing is that it functions great and will probably last a long time.
