Works great! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I think they should have included a "poker" of some sort to expel the pineapple core from the slicing cylinder. Perhaps they could have built one into the black handle part, like an apple corer? The ratcheting mechanism is a plus. UPDATE: I discovered that the pineapple core does not become lodged in the cylinder if one doesn't drill all the way down to the bottom of the pineapple. If you stop drilling before going through the bottom, the core remains attached to the pineapple shell. When you pull the device out, the core stays behind. Thus, a "poker" is not required and I have changed my rating to "5 stars".
