This puzzle rack will do what it advertises - holds *up to* 12 puzzles of varying size. That being said, it should be mentioned that if you wish to store any *KNOB* puzzles in this rack, you forfeit the slot above the one where you put the knob puzzle. Notice how the stock photo shows an empty space above the knobs. The knobs stick up into the above slot's space. Sooo... that number quickly goes down from 12 if you have a couple of knob puzzles (as I do). I've posted some photos in the customer product images demonstrating the fit. Other than that - chunky puzzles, peg puzzles, and touch-n-feel puzzles fit very well. It can easily hold 12 of any combination of those types. See photos. I would like to see a puzzle rack with knob puzzles taken into more consideration. Other reviewers have mentioned that the puzzles do not fit well. It is a tight fit width-wise for some of the, but the standard size puzzles do fit. I included a close-up picture of the side of the rack, where you can see how one of the puzzles is pressing right against the sides. I do not see that as a problem.
