Ordering shoes on-line can be a total bummer, but this pair is AWESOME! I read the reviews and ordered accordingly - knowing my fondness for wool socks in winter. I tried them on, walked around the house a couple hours, thought (weirdly) 'these shoes fit just right' and I decided to wear them on my trip to NYC! I brought my backup shoes just in case I was imagining things, knowing that it could go downhill real fast with a lot of walking (which is what I do in NYC). True story - I wore them every single day - all day - from morning (walking) to night in all venues (they look that good) and then some. I never used my backup pair - I lived in these shoes every day. What a lovely surprise to get a great pair of boots that kept my feet warm, had room for wool socks, a generous toe box and no heel slippage. We averaged 13K steps every day and never once did my feet feel cold, crowded, or uncomfortable. Plus - my ankles were warm and shielded from the fierce winds. LOVE these BOOTS!
