I debated on giving this item 1 star many many many times while putting it together for over 2 hours. The instruction card they give you is a joke. So I had to take this thing apart so many times and basically figure it out on my own. It will be very secure if put together right. The poles will come out if done incorrectly is all I can tell you. After I finally got this thing put together, it does make a wonderful book shelf and why it got 4 stars. It’ll be 5 stars once they spend more time on a detailed instruction sheet. Would have saved me SO much time and made for a super frustrating experience. Make sure the center pieces are always in the middle and end pieces on the end. They look very similar but are not. The center pieces will have holes on both sides where as the side pieces do not. When assembling, Lay these flat and insert the poles and mesh lining for keeping them extra secure. Best way I found after 3 times reassembling. I would know. Also, be extremely gentle when sliding the poles into the mesh. It will tear easily which happened to me. Sucks! I just used those screwed up ones on the bottom. *Short poles are all gonna be going up. Long poles will all be going across. 2 long poles slide through the mesh and 2 go across under the mesh. Always make sure the center pieces that the poles connect to have holes on both sides otherwise you’ll have to take it off and fix it and that really isn’t fun.
