I have cuisinart ice cream maker which requires frozen bowl. A Simac IL gelati with built in compressor and tried and returned 2 other makers that required frozen bowl. This creami is my favorite. I mean just 3.5 minutes including respin to make frozen dessert as creamy as the Simac compressor model which is also great but takes 40 minutes starting with cold liquid. With all the others including the one with builtin compressor all produce good results but the ice cream always starts to melt when served. The creami product remains firm and creamy always with no melting when finished eating. Cleanup is just washing container cover with blade and unfinished treats can be returned to freezer. Ten seconds. No need to use dishwasher. Cleanup of other machines more complicated. I find it easy to rotate flavors in the freezer and other than the first day, not a problem with ice cream readily available on demand. As a diabetic I do not eat sugar and limit fat intake. I use recipes adapted from Ben and Jerry ice cream cookbook. Eggs, Splenda, cocoa or pulverized fruit, 2 percent milk, fat free half and half, vanilla, etc. The included cookbook calls for many ingredientsI would haver thought to use to make ice cream I do have to respin my frozen dessert every time which I do regularly without even opening the container, just return bowl to start position and swing back into place. Otherwise it comes out powdery grainy on first try, probably due to very low fat content. I use lite ice cream mode. After the respin, the product is as creamy as I would want it. So why not 5 stars. There have not been any extra containers available for months. What's with that Ninja. With more containers, the world of flavors opens up. I should mention that I use this machine in out building where we have freezer and extra fridge so noise is not problem. It is not as loud as my vitamin which is in the kitchen and runs for 8 minutes on soup cycle. I highly recommend this machine and don't be afraid to use your own ice cream recipe.
