Container cannot be properly cleaned because of CO2 valve
Container is good-looking and appears to be of good quality. However, the manual specifies that it should not be immersed in water for cleaning, because it would damage the CO2 valve in the lid! The CO2 valve as well as the date reminder associated with the valve, are both highly useless additions to this nice container. The manual recommends wiping with a damp cloth, which for me is completely unacceptable for an industrial product from China, intended for food storage. I would like to clean it thoroughly with water, soap and more water until I feel it is cleaned of any contaminants. I recommend that you do the same thing or find a different good quality container that is not equipped with the useless CO2 valve. I wonder how many people know the function of the CO2 valve? How many times have you heard of coffee containers blowing up because of CO2 accumulation ? So what do you need the valve for?
UPDATED: I updated my report to five stars because of the extraordinary response from the supplier. I have also surveyed the market and there is nobody who makes a container of similar or better quality that does not have the CO2 valve. I would like to hope that as an option,
manufacturers would produce the same high quality container without the the useless valve. In the meantime, if you already have the container, you can pop-out the valve, wash the container with water and soap, and pop the vale back in.
