I want to thank our cat Sammy - a rescued Russian Blue - for the discovery of this product. About a month ago, all of the sudden he developed very gassy and excruciatingly smelly diarrhea. We were then right in between two snow storms and twice my local vet's office had to re-schedule us. I couldn't wait another day and started researching online if there was a safer, holistic method of treating his diarrhea (other then the normal course at the vet's - deworming, special medications, etc). During those three days I would wake up several times a night and clean the bathroom floor. Then chase him around the condo to clean him – warm soapy kitchen towels worked best. Not fun doing all this at 3:00AM. When this product arrived I started him off with a 1/2 teaspoon mixed in with watery light tuna. I've never seen him eat tuna with such appetite. Long story short - his gas and diarrhea vanished within 48 hours (that's four servings of watery tuna with DE mixed in). After three days he played better (a lot more enthusiasm), slept better, even his eyes became brighter. He now regularly receives (twice daily) 3/4 of a teaspoon with his tuna (7:30AM and then again at 5:30PM) and no more stomach problems (knock on wood). The more I read about DE's benefits the more convinced I became and started taking 1 teaspoon of it every morning with a little milk. After day three my stomach felt at peace. After a week my cravings for chocolate and sweets in general became non-existent. I have two gorgeous bars of 70% dark chocolate – one with caramel and the other with orange and I could care less – unheard of for me. Another amazing thing is that my stomach knows exactly when I had enough - my body won't allow me to overeat now. It's now been three weeks for me and I noticed that the creak in my neck (a serious whip-lash trauma after a 40Mph rear-end collision a decade ago) is just about gone. I don’t need to constantly “crack” my neck to relieve the tension between the vertebrae. Thank you to all who posted their experiences with DE on all the blogs I visited.
