First off, let me say I am a professional makeup artist. These brushes impressed me, and that is saying a lot, because it takes a lot to impress me. These brushes are super, super soft, the handles and ferrules are sturdy, minimal to no shedding. Excellent product, worth every penny. I was not expecting much for what I paid, but I was extremely, extremely impressed. In addition, the item arrived faster than I had expected. I read the reviews before making my purchase and some customers described them as having a strange smell. Personally, the sets that I received did not smell at all. In any case, you should be washing any brush prior to use anyway, so I imagine if some people received a "smelly" set of brushes, washing them should take care of that. I can't say enough good things about it. Love. Bought two sets, one for my personal use, one for my kit.
