Don't let the low reviews scare you
These are great sheets at a value. However, these will only be great sheets for you if you understand the material and how to launder them. If you have never owned Egyptian cotton sheets, do not let the 1 star reviews scare you off. They have never owned them either, and have never been told how to properly care for them. Egyptian cotton sheets start out rough. Google it - this is the norm. They soften with each wash, but there is a specific way to launder them. First and foremost (as with anything), wash them according to the tag. To prevent shrinkage, maintain color, and extend their durability, wash cold on a gentle cycle, with gentle detergents. You don't even need to use the normal amount of detergent, either. Follow the instructions of your washing machine on your top or side loader (i.e fill the top loader with water first). And don't use fabric softener. If you don't want to see your sheets ripping up or have their seams busting or unraveling, wash your sheets separately from other garments so there is plenty of room. And don't wrap your sheets around the agitator. Overstuffing your machine or circling sheets around the agitator tends to beat them up and cause the issues of sheets (and other clothing) falling apart. Don't leave them sitting in the washing machine when done. This increases wrinkles. And of course there will be some wrinkling - it's cotton. Wrinkle-free sheets have formaldehyde added to them, so best of luck if that's what you want. Dry on the lowest heat setting. Heat shrinks cotton, and adds wrinkles. It also reduces the life of the sheets. If you want to try to hasten the softness of the sheets, you can use dryer balls or clean tennis balls in the dryer. And don't over-dry them. They actually are best taken out when barely damp. If you know what you're getting and know how to take care of them, you will really like these sheets. I think the main problems with the low reviews are that people aren't really taught how to launder their clothes anymore, and that is not the fault of the manufacturer. When you invest money in clothing, bedding, etc., it's always a good idea to put some effort into taking care of them properly. Edit: 4 years later and with a regular rotation between 3 sheet sets, these are holding up well and are in great shape! Added a pic to show depth. This will absolutely fit 15".
