I ordered these pretty much for bike riding and when I really need to be aware of my surroundings. I totally love he tech, it’s great and getting better all the time. It’s little weird at first, you take them off the first few times & it’s like you’re head’s still getting phantom vibrations. (Imagine roller blade-ing or getting off a boat you still have the sensation of motion…. But it passes quickly and in a week the sensation was the new normal. Of course this is a vibration not motion I hope you get the description) SO…. Great for being able to listen & be aware of your surroundings unlike many “AWARE headphones (in-ear & over-ear) there’s nothing like being totally open and not occluded. They sound good-ish, I think very good for the tech but not as good as any quality in ear headphone that you can get a good seal with. (They do supply ear plugs and it does improve both the bass and the high frequencies, but, what’s the point then…) I spend a fair amount of time behind the wheel in my car, they’re quite solid for conversations while driving, you can hear absolutely everything around you and the people I talk to say I sound crystal clear. I love a good Ear Bud when I get a great seal on them, they can sound great & are so light weight, these are also very light weight, believe them when they say it weighs less than an Ounce, it does. What I don’t love about being sealed up well in ear buds is that when I walk my foot falls bang in my head, it makes me nuts, no such problem here. They’re not great in loud environments no surprise. (the outside noise competes with bone conducted sound,) They may be offering my aging mother* some relief for TV watching, she can listen at a normal level and not have to blast the TV, I get why the technology is useful for the hearing impaired. (she'll have to get her own pair!) While I don’t think they’re the best sounding headphones, & I am a bit of a audio snob sonically, they fit such a unique role in my life I wouldn’t want to not have them as an alternative and as of today are my Bluetooth headphone of choice for the car. For new city exploring it’s great to get your GPS unobtrusively and be fully aware of your new environment, and of course you can listen to music while also walking, talking and making calls too. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they were with eyeglasses/sunglasses, slightly less so with collared shirts like polos that always seem to be hitting the rather stiff neck band. The Two option EQ really isn’t explained in the manual so here goes, one option has more bass, one has more top end & midrange (adding a nice bit of clarity to vocals/spoken words), for me outside for music listening I like the bassier option for everything else I pick the EQ setting with more clarity it also buzzes/vibrates less around your temples/cheekbones. The Packaging and over all unboxing experience was first rate, they put a lot of thought into the customer experience this prices as a premium product and the presentation reflect that IMO. I do think the magnetic charging system is pretty genius and I am sure help it maintain its waterproof rating, it’s super easy to use and foolproof. Lastly believe it or not as puny as they are when I take them off I find my temples/cheekbones are a wee bit sweaty under the exciters. (a small price to pay for the excellent option they bring to my outdoor experiences ) Worth a try, if you have similar needs, I say go for it! *Mom update, I got her a Taotronics Bluetooth transceiver for her TV hooked it up Optically (Toslink) After she figured out how to turn them on & off (she's 93 soon to be 94) and remembers to re-charge them, it's like a Miracle for her & my brother that was going deaf listening at a volume mom could hear, interestingly when my brother picks them up to use he listens at the same volume, that bone conduction thing works !
