The more I use it the more I like it!
The WG165 is a good looking - ergonomic trimmer. Attention should be made to the reviews that note the line .06 vs .08 size but keep in mind it is a 10" trimmer for a good reason. The 10 inch size has to tell you that it isn't a top of the line heavy hitter. The price for a 24 volt Lithium powered tool is a significant reason why I give it a good write-up. I paid particular attention to the complaints about the battery and battery life before buying. I know a little about lithium power sources from RC models - how and how well they perform. Any device with a lithium power source is worth investigating so I ended up buying a WG165 regardless of the negative reviews based on the power source. I have no complaints regarding the trimmer. It does exactly what I want it to do after several uses and has only improved in performance. Line life appears to be quite good and I'm impressed how it feeds the line automatically. I have only once adjusted the line manually. I am biased because of my struggle with other electric and gas trimmers that I have owned. The Worx is by far the easiest to use and maintain. I look forward to using it and am very pleased with the included wall mount when done. Now for the battery and charging. I wish the instruction manual would have been in color so the writer could have put in bold red letters to be sure to charge the battery before the first use. This is VERY important. It is also important to realize how the Lithium-Ion battery requires a few cycles to improve itself regarding power and duration. The battery for the Worx trimmer is in a vented case and is isolated from touch. Therefore, it is important to allow the battery to sit for an hour or so before attempting a recharge. I then position the charging battery so the venting area is not restricted. When using the trimmer I would give it a short rest every few minutes to keep the battery temperature down. Remember, touching the battery case does not tell you the real temperature inside. One final bit of lithium battery advice. Although the power circuit has a voltage cutoff feature I would always recommend not going to that point before recharging. My WSG165 slows a very little bit a few minutes before voltage cutoff. The moment I detect this tiny diminishment I suspend the work, let the battery cool for an hour and then recharge. I am in wonder regarding the bad "battery" reports. Although the batteries could actually be bad there are a few other factors to consider. Was the battery initially charged? did it over heat at some time? Could the charger be malfunctioning or the automatic voltage cutoff in the trimmer itself have failed. All these "junk" batteries could be the result of them being destroyed by other factors, then replaced and destroyed again by the same undetected problem. Anyway, the WG165 is a delight to me and sits among my favorite tools. I should probably wait a year to post a review but after several charges with nothing but better power and duration I'm anxious to share my experience. I will edit this if I have a failure but at this point in time it doesn't seem likely. I apologize if the review looks like an advertisement but for the price I paid, the value I have gotten and my past experience with others, this trimmer simply shines.
