Very good electric head shaver
I have mostly been a manual razor head shaver. I have used a few electric face shavers on my head to extent the use of my razor blades but it was just not the same. I decided to look for a purpose built electric head shaver. To my surprise, the market is full of them today. I saw some independent reviews which were favorable so I picked the Pitbull Silver Pro.
As noted by others, the power cord for the shaver is a USB cable. You will need a power adapter or a modern outlet which has a USB power plug built in. I had many USB power adapters laying around from previous phones so that was not a problem. What I was impressed with the shaver was the level of noise. I'm used to old school electric shavers which were loud. This is very quiet which helps not disturb a sleeping wife when getting ready early in the morning. As with any electric shaver, the longer you use it, the more it heats up. I didn't not find the heat excessive and did find the heat level plateaued once it got to a certain temperature. The heat did not cause any irritation to my skin.
I have used the shaver wet and dry. The documentation says that the manufacturer recommends a wet shave. I only found a wet shave to produce a barely noticeable improvement on the shave. In short, if you don't have the time or desire to wet shave, you aren't really losing much performance.
Cleaning up is very easy. I did purchase the additional cleaning stand. For the actual cleaning, the stand is not required and can easily be done in your sink. However, what the cleaning stand does provide is a good way for the shaver to dry after cleaning. For that specific reason, I would recommend adding the stand to your purchase.
The last thing to consider is the cost and frequency of the replacement blades. The manufacturer recommends replacing the blades once a quarter. Currently, the costs for new heads is between $25-35 per head (depending on which option you go with). This means you are possibly looking around $100 per year for head replacement. That's not excessive, but should be part of your determination if this is a shaver for you. I have not used the product long enough to determine if I can go longer than 3 months for replacements.
At the end of the day, it's a good electric head shaver. I did try it on my face, and it didn't do as well but I didn't buy for that purpose. As with any electric shaver, your 5 O'clock shadow will depend on how quickly your hair grows. It cuts well, but it still will not give you as close of a shave as a manual razor so just go into it knowing that.
