I recently had my deck professionally refinished. It cost 1500 and by the time I found someone willing, I was glad to pay the price. I'm a do it yourselfer and take pride in doing a great job but... at age 70, sanding, staining and buffing my deck back into tip top shape is a labor intensive deal. I tried to find a professional through friends and then home advisor without success. Eventually I found a contractor who specializes in log homes. Once we got the deck refurbished to the restaining phase we used a product called Odies Oil. Odies is an all natural oil wood finishing product available on Amazon that does a spectacular job of restoring the luster of the deck wood while protecting it from the elements. After applying the first coat by hand, it occurred to me that there might be a better way. Hence the Oreck Commercial Orbiter, subject of this review. I purchased my Oreck from Amazon, my most trusted retailer. The price of this machine is less than the Oreck Ultra on the Oreck website, yet this machine is 3/4 vs 1/2 and appears to be an otherwise heavier duty machine. The Oreck and pads, white pad, cloth bonnet, lambs wool bonnet and Squeaky cleaner all arrived together late in the afternoon on the Wednesday after I ordered it on Sunday. I was so excited I unboxed it and immediately went to work in the remaining hours of daylight. I did the entire deck, application, dry and buff dry in less than three hours. Beautiful!!! The next weekend I did my interior wood floors using Squeaky Clean and Bruce floor cleaner. Each of these jobs would have cost me 300. The Oreck will save me time and money for years to come.
