LESS IS MORE (first time msg users look here)
It’s a good product, good shipping and all BUT Less is more!! I can’t give the product a bad review because it totally does what it’s supposed to do. However, I had never used MSG before so when I sprinkled a bit on some roast veg I was hopefully my fam would eat it worked SO well. I was freaking over the moon. I keep a jar of dry spice rub for cooking meat, veg, chicken, you know, whatever. I thought “wow, this improved my family’s interest in healthy-ish food so much that I might as well put some in my “everything rub.” I put 1 tbs in. I’m hear now to tell you how horrible an idea that was. I want to state again, before I tell you about the horror that followed,it is NOT the products fault! I’m just a dummy! It’s kinda hard to describe msg’s flavor on its own. It instantly makes your mouth water but is just, chemical-y? My spice rub tasted WAY too weird so I made a second batch to add to the original to dilute that weird flavor. Not enough. Made batch over batch to add (I was wishing at this point that I was wishing that I had just tossed it to begin with). I swear, I’m at maybe 25ppm and I can STILL taste that chemically flavor. Also, the fam wouldn’t eat things I used the rub on but that wasn’t a tragedy because half the time the kids won’t eat anything but chicken nuggets shaped in blobs that they swear are dinosaurs. 🙄 Don’t let what happened to me happen to you. Start with 1 grain. If that’s not enough maybe try 5 grains. DO NOT exceed a tsp unless A. You know what your doing or B. You are preparing a feast for a med-large village. Good luck kitchen warriors.
