So i purchased this specifically to tap into a fuse and run power into my Jeep without tapping into the existing wiring. I did not want to cause any issues with any existing electrical items, so I bought this and tapped into a fuse in the fuse box under the hood. I ran this wire through the firewall and powered a High power double USB port and also hooked in the switch from my ARB air compressor. It worked beautifully and now I have switched power to both items and is fuse protected. The only other thing I had to do was run a separate ground wire. It seems like this would be the hard way, but it was much easier to run dedicated wiring than removing all of the dash and trying to tie into the stereo or cigarette lighter.
