Great portable wheelchair
My wife has been using the 2018 wheelchair for about 5 months and she has been very happy with it. I was hoping that she would be able to lift it in and out of our SUV by her self, but it is too heavy and big for her to do it. But, I have been able lift it in and out without and problems. Especially after I made a device that attaches to the the back to make it easier to slide in and out of the SUV. (See picture)
Pros: One of the lightest weight portable wheelchairs around. Easy to fold up . 2 separate batteries makes it easy and convenient to keep riding while the other is charging. I always leave the chair in the back of the SUV and pull out just the battery that needs charging and charge it in the house.
Cons: Would be better if it could go 25% faster.... 5 MPH. When crossing 4 lane streets, you can may not be able to complete the crossing before cross walk light turns red. It doesn't take too much of a forward resistance for the drive wheels to loose traction (spin-out). This can happens on wet surfaces going up slight inclines or over small bumps. Taking the joystick off an on is very inconvenient every time the unit is folded or unfolded. It would be better if there was a way to pivot the joystick out of the way and in a safe position rather than having to remove it every time. Or even a quicker way to remove the joystick and store it away would help. Suggestion: "Quick electrical connect" to the joystick to a permanently mounted cable connector and also design the joystick to snap into place. OR a remote control Joystick that snaps into place.
