this is the way to do it. It took my husband and I (you definitely need two people) about 45 minutes to put together. It is well made and looks very nice. FYI it is bright white in color. You would never know it held a litterbox. I did not install the divider as I wanted to put the "ultimate litterbox" in it. If you have this litterbox it will fit side to side perfectly but space will not allow the divider. Without the divider for support I would not recommend using it as a bench to sit on. I believe the weight of a person might cause damage. I lined mine with plastic shelf paper and then use old towels in front of the litter box to attract stray litter off the kitties feet. My kittens are four months old and immediately took to this unit. I have had it about three weeks and have no complaints. I did not purchase this from amazon but from the CSN site as I had a discount 20% off coupon and free shipping from them directly. UPDATE: I have had this for over a year and my initial impression has only improved. This has held up beautifully. It still looks brand new! We have experienced no issues.
