It Works
I've always wanted to know my blood type, but I don't weigh enough to donate blood, and I didn't want to go to a doctor's office just to see what blood type I am. I wanted something affordable and something I could easily do at home. I saw some Youtubers use this test, so I went ahead and bought it for myself. I received this in the mail, and it was well sealed. The test card itself was air sealed, the lancet had a plastic nub you have to take off before use, and the little white sticks were in a small ziploc bag. The directions were quite simple, but I actually ended up putting too much water on the sections, so I was a little worried. You only have one shot at this, and though it's simple, I can see some people having to order more than one test. Luckily, everything went well, and I got the results I wanted. The lancet did give me anxiety, but after trying other methods to get myself to bleed, I got frustrated and ended up using the lancet with no problem. It's not painful, just a quick prick. I found the little white sticks to not work all that well. The test requires you to give at least 4 full drops of blood from one tiny lancet prick, which was pretty hard! I definitely bled enough, but it just smeared on my finger and didn't want to drop down onto the sticks. The sticks almost seemed to repel the blood, but I got a tiny bit on there and just smeared it around on the test. The extra water I ended up putting on the test actually worked in my favor for the lack of blood I provided. Anyway, I tilted the paper around and got my results. One thing to note is that there's a chance you won't get clear, strong results. If that's the case, the test says you have to order another one and do it again. I can't say if the test was accurate because I've never gotten tested anywhere else, but seeing that I got the same blood type as my mother who actually got tested, I feel that it was accurate.
