My 16-year-old MinPin—a rescue—is in poor overall health, and his body seems to be giving up. After spending thousands at two different vets, his chronic diarrhea and vomiting persisted and, the day before we purchased this product, he had virtually stopped eating, even refusing his favorite human food. He was just defecating clear gel and vomiting stomach acid. He was getting visibly weaker and more disoriented by the minute. He would not eat the powdery stuff and the expensive prescription food the vet sold us, and he’d just spit it all out...or vomit. Then, I saw this product on Amazon and bought it out of desperation, next-day shipping. We gave him 1 tsp for the first couple of days, and he seemed happy with it and didn’t spit out or vomit...and, although he still seemed weak and disoriented, he begun accepting some of his favorite treats and human food. It is Day 3, and he seems less disoriented/weak. He has also begun taking several bites of his regular canned food! So, we’ve reduced the dose to 1/2 tsp, and he is looking much stronger, even somewhat alert. We are also giving him the probiotics gel by the same manufacturer, and the diarrhea and vomiting have stopped after two doses. We know he will probably be leaving us soon, but we believe this product is making the “departure” a little less uncomfortable for him...and, at the risk of sounding selfish, for us, as well. Very few things in life are more painful than seeing your dog’s body waste away, not eating...while having GI issues. All in all, we are grateful that we found this product, just in time. ====== Update on March 3, 2021 He has since passed, and I thought I’d post this update to let everyone know that I do believe this product extended his life by about a month and, more importantly, it helped him be less uncomfortable. He had stopped eating or drinking spontaneously about 10 days before he passed, and he’d spit food out/vomit most of the time—solid or liquid, and this product was THE ONLY THING he would reliably consume/retain without spitting out!!! In fact, he liked it so much that, when he whined or howled in the middle of the night, I’d give him a quick lick of this product and he’d calm down. He died in my arms in his sleep, peacefully without struggling. I remain grateful for this product, which, in my view, has made the transition less traumatic for my Min Pin.
