I almost returned it. I had to change the way I think about cleaning. (Updated)
Initially I was disappointed with the results. It doesn't get in there and mop as well as I can being an actual human with an entire bucket of water or more if I want and being able to see spots that need more attention. I almost returned it. I had to change the way I think about cleaning. I was mopping on weekends and I hated it. Then I realized the best way to use the Braava is every night or on a daily basis. It can't clean as good as I can once a week, but it can clean every night while I'm sleeping. This approach helped me appreciate the Braava a lot more. I have some dogness and my weekly clean wasn't exactly staying clean all week. Now it's always cleaned. I still have to spot clean some stuff but my weekends of ripping the house apart and sweeping and mopping everything are over. It's like I have a reset button on the condition of my house that I can just press every night. Anyway that's how you need to look at this device to get the most out of it. It even changes the way I think about cleaning other stuff. I can just dust whenever now because I don't care if i get dust on the floor because the robot will just get it later. I don't have to procedurally clean my house in a marathon from top to bottom in the optimal order anymore. My allergies have improved a lot because my house is always clean instead of clean for a few days. It's also helped my attitude a bit. I don't have to work at it and my house is always clean so It doesn't upset me when dogs or people mess up my floors anymore. It's just worth every penny. The device itself is very quiet. Sometimes it will bump a door or something that will make a little noise but that's it. It gets under pretty much everything. Frankly, it gets under more stuff than I ever did. It charges fast. In about 2 hours it's ready to go again. You need more than just the one pad it comes with. I would recommend at least one pad for every room for every day of the week. A fresh pad is like a new mop. If you only have one pad you'd have to wash it by hand or wait for it in the washer between uses and that is just more work than just mopping stuff yourself. You can't really use it the way it needs to be used with just the single pad it comes with. Also get some dry swiffer pads and wet swiffer pads. The dry pads are quilted and seem like they do a better job than the cloth pads. the wet pads are handy for super quick cleans or stuff you really, really don't want to touch. My one of my rooms is slightly larger than what it states the max range of the mop is but furniture (that it doesn't fit under), cabinets and stuff like that cuts down on the area. I can actually run it twice in that room on a single charge (it will run out of water though). It occasionally gets stuck. it has a slight wedge shape to it. It's not hard to make it avoid problem areas though. place an obstacle in its way or hold down the mop or sweep button to get it into fast mode where it avoids stuff. I think if it was not at all wedge shaped it would avoid a lot of where it gets stuck. It doesn't bother my dogs. It's quiet and they're used to it. Sometimes it will sneak up on them even, bumping them with humorous results. Anyway I really like it. It's probably my favorite thing ever. It gives me a clean floor every night and gave me back a large portion of my weekends. I waited a long time for one with more range and eventually just settled for this one. I didn't need to. When I think back to all the moping I did myself and all the dirt I put up with waiting for the weekend to mop I feel like I wasted a lot of time. I would love an improved model but I'm very happy with this one. Update: I had to replace the battery a couple months ago because mine wasn't charging. I opted for a Powerextra High Capacity one. It was pretty cheap and really increased the range. I'm actually happy that It stopped working because the extra range really speeds stuff up. Also, I tried putting Nature's Miracle Dog Stain and Odor Remover in the mop reservoir because it's enzymatic like the iRobot scuba solution. So far that's working pretty well. I've been doing it for several months and I haven't noticed any of the damage to the tires like people mentioned with Lysol or other products.
