This is the third portable CD/radio that I've purchased in the last few years and it's by far the best. This is a dying breed of device, so it's really hard to find a good one. Most of them are really poor quality. At $50 from Amazon, this one cost a little more, but Sony did a great job with it. We bought it for my young kids to have something to listen to childrens' CDs with and I use it for teaching when I have an audio sample or song to share with my class of kids. As far as complaints, I wish it had a nice place to keep the cord when I'm carrying it. I could use batteries, but I prefer to just plug it in. Also, the volume is digital (there's a + button and a - button) but it doesn't allow for fine tuning of volume. Sometimes hitting + once seems to increase the volume more than I would like. It also takes a little getting used to because it's not like the old ones with wheels and dials to control everything.
