I'm so glad I got this. Just days after I received it my son came down with a fever. I was able to check his temperature a gazillion times, even while he was sleeping, without bothering him. I'm glad you can turn the beeping off. I like that it glows green/yellow/red for the body temperature mode to give you a quick gauge of how bad the fever is. For fun I was trying it on all sorts of body parts. I like the "surface temp" mode because I use it on my turtle tank to check the water temperature and the basking area. I chose this particular thermometer because it had a good price. I'd have no problem recommending this to anyone, totally worth it. Never going back to the armpit or temple thermometers that I had.
