I have a pair of Jaybird x3s for running, a set of Bose QC35s, and now the anker SoundBud Slims. I got these because I wanted small “wear-all-day” headphones that snapped around my neck with magnets like a necklace. Basically, I wanted Beats X, but with two other pricey sets I couldn’t justify spending that much on a third set. I paid less than $25 here on Amazon for the SoundBuds. These buds delivered on all counts. I was absolutely not expecting them to sound as good as they do. With the included sizing tips, I was able to get a great easy fit, something I found more difficult with the X3s. Compared sound back to back with my QC35s in a quiet room and while the sound was more spacious and slightly more present in the Bose set, the bass and overall fidelity was comparable. To be clear, I should not be able to say that a pair of $25 ear buds are even in a limited capacity comparable to the the gold standard Bluetooth headset from Bose. They lack the noise cancellation, a fancy app, the build quality and some of the sound quality of the QC35s, but I’ll be darned if they lack $325 worth! I have not done a back-to-back comparison with the Jaybird X3, which I believe will seal and isolate better with the “comply foam” ear tips I use on them, but these Anker buds actually weigh slightly less and have magnets to keep them around your neck all day. I doubt very seriously if anyone will regret this purchase. Do yourself a favor and pick them up.
