A good all-in-one for day-to-day printing...just not if you're in a hurry.
Set-up: Installation was fairly easy for me. If you're able to follow instructions step-by-step, this shouldn't give you a hard time. I did attempt the automatic wifi setup at first, which did not initially connect (but I think that may have been an issue with my router, not the printer in this case). Following the instructions for manual wifi setup worked just fine and I was up and running. There's an option for connecting directly with a USB cable, but I bought this partially for the wireless abilities, so I didn't go that route. Ink installs in 4 separate cartridges (CMYK -- included in the box) in the front of the machine, making installation there a snap. Performance: Overall, this printer works well for printing most documents and graphics. I have not (and probably won't often) use it for printing photos/on photo paper, so I can't comment on its capabilities there. But for everyday printing needs, this gets the job done well. It is a little on the slow side to print, which is my main reason for docking a star. On the flip side, this is one of the fastest all-in-one scanners I've ever had, which is really nice. It also sounds like a robot when printing, which I find really delightful. Other Features: This printer can print dual-sided automatically, which is great for saving paper, and one of the key features that led to my purchase. It also has a hopper on top so that you can scan multiple documents in one shot. Paper loads via a cartridge located on the bottom-front of the machine -- I really appreciate not having to have paper sticking out of the top-back of the printer. Pros: Great for day-to-day document printing, really fast scanner Cons: Kind of slow, setup took a couple tries In the attached video: Started recording from hitting the "Print" button on the browser to the moment the page finished. All-in-all, printing one B&W page took about 3 minutes.
