We got this on July 1 of 2018 and used it almost daily for the first week and quite often (about 3 times a week) every week since. It does take a bit of a learning curve but, once you've got it it is pretty incredible for a small unit. We put it on a small table in the kitchen and have a large bucket beside the table for the drain. (Not the most aesthetic looking yet, what we have to deal with at this time.) To fill it, we just fill a watering can and pour it in. We don't have any way to fill with the holes on the sides so, this works well for us. The biggest thing I've washed so far is a winter bathrobe. Not something that can be spun but, everything else I've washed I've spun, often in 2-3 batches for each load. (tip) The load has to be balanced or the thing rock and rolls like crazy including off the table. Just readjust the contents and be sure to use the plastic (tip) Use a minimal amount of detergent or you'll have a load of suds you can't get rid of. (tip) Figure out a routine so it takes less time and energy. We refill the watering can as soon as it's empty so we're ready for every load. Usually, use two cans which just about fills the bucket when it drains. While it's draining, I'm refilling the watering can and putting the first load into the spinner. (tip) Our plants are blooming even here in very hot SoCal because they get the grey water. (tip) Be sure to turn off the drain before adding water to the washer. (tip) We've personally never used the full time on the machine. 3-6 minutes on the wash; 1-2 minutes to spin. (tip) If, like me, you hand-wash, remember to use the spinner to shorten drying time. Currently, it takes very little time to dry outdoors. Is it a bit of work? yes! But once you get a routine going, not as time-consuming as it might be. Sure beats sitting in a laundromat and I can get a couple of loads in before I begin my day!
