I am not good at windows, putting up curtains, shades, I can't do it, but I did these with no problem. I read the reviews and I saw one that said the shades fell down in the middle of the night. I started thinking, "how can I make sure they stay up without damaging my windows or using nails, I used VELCRO. I put one strip of Velcro on the window pane and one on the strip of the shade that would normally be stuck to the window. Now, it is STUCK very well and if I want to change the color, no worries, just get the new shade and put a piece of Velcro on it (where the tape part is) and you can change the color and save the old one, maybe one for summer and another color for winter. They will not fall down with Velcro and no one sees the Velcro strip. You can get strong Velcro that holds 100s of pounds or more just to be sure it won't fall. I'm a fashion designer and I'm used to coming up with creative ideas on how to make things work. Get the shade, it's a good buy, get the Velcro and it will stay put.
