★★★★☆
Flavorful, generously-sized snack/meal/dessert with better than average ingredients
Having worked at a nutrition store, I have tried nearly every protein bar, cookie, brownie that has been marketed, with only a handful consistently at the top for flavor, nutritional content, and price. KNOW Foods is a brand I had no experience with, thus no expectations with their new Protein Cookies. Here are my thoughts: FLAVOR Spot on. Often companies will tout flavor profiles that sound intriguing, but end up being a far miss. The chocolate chip cookies are remarkably good, if on the un-sweet side. No unsavory aftertaste! TEXTURE Chewy and soft, not dry or brittle, nor overly dense like many protein-based snacks. Good mouth feel. NUTRITIONAL VALUE/INGREDIENTS Caloric-ally on the high side (395 cals per cookie), so better if eaten as a meal replacement or cut into portions. Macros are well-rounded, with 32g fat (mostly almonds and coconut), 42g carbs (12g fiber) and 18g protein. No foreign ingredients or fillers to be found. VALUE A little on the high side, at just over $4/cookie as of this posting. Again, if divided into smaller portions, a more economical purchase. OVERALL Solid entry into the healthy snack arena, KNOW Foods cookies are a winner, though given the price, an occasional purchase. Recommended!
